After authoring and delivering a worldwide educational series with the select team at ERCO, they offered the same high standards and experience to a team of architects at Foster & Partners over a 3 month period.

Phil re-prepared his original material and training agendas to create a tailored programme over some 12 weeks on intensive lighting skills blended with spatial awareness and the role of light in architecture.

“We had used specially adapted architectural plans of buildings to make you plan the lighting carefully, which we had used and tested with lighting professionals across Europe. But these guys simply took off roofs and walls and re-drew the space to enhance the lighting!”

Phil Gardner has worked and trained with many architects in the subject of lighting design, but he notes “It is always a two way process where the trainer can learn when you work with exciting students”.
